Tea/Coffee & delicious home bakes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere –
come for the refreshments and stay for the company and a chat with new and old friends.
Most days, some morning, some evening groups
Tuesdays at the Church 19.00 Prayer Time, 20.00 Bible Study
Our different groups meet in Church members’ homes or in the Church, are all
about 10–12 in size and come together to explore the bible together and pray
for each other and the wider world.
There are no experts! We share our own thoughts and experiences of God’s
Goodness and seek to understand his Word in the light of our own lives.
You will be sure of a warm welcome, even if you are not sure and just want to give it a try.
Please ask the Minister for an introduction to one of the convenors –
there is almost certainly a group that meets at a time or day that suits you.
Uniformed and other organisations meet on the Church premises regularly
– they are run independently of the Church by the organisations themselves,
although many of the leaders are members of the Church and our children all
take part in the activities.
The aim of The Girls' Brigade, being a Christian organisation,
international and interdenominational, is:
To help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control,
reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.
There are different goups arranged, at different times and days of the week for:
Tiny Tots Under 5 years
Explorers 5 – 8 years
Juniors 9 – 11 years
Seniors 12 – 13 years
Brigaders 14 – 18 years
Associates 19+ years
The Boys' Brigade is a Christian uniformed organisation for boys of 4–19 years old.
Every Friday evening, there is a programme of fun activities designed to educate,
challenge and inspire young people in an environment of Christian teaching.
There are three age groupings: Anchor Boys; Junior Section and Company Section
who meet at different times. Drama competitions, football matches and quizzes
are held with other Dublin companies, and that is only part of the action!
The Irish Girl Guides is part of the worldwide Scouting movement and
is divided into the following age groups:
Ladybird Guides – aged 5 – 7 years
Brownie Guides – aged 6½ – 11 years
Guides – aged 10½ – 15 years
Senior Branch - aged 14½ – 21 years
The mission is to enable girls and young women to develop to their
fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
Apart from the fun activities, being Girl Guides there are regular camps
and other awayday activities!
The Junior Christian Endeavour is a Christ-centered, Church-based organisation
offering an action-packed program for children up to the age of thirteen. Its motto
is "For Christ and the Church" and its aims are to lead children and young people
to the Lord Jesus Christ and then train them to serve Him as Lord and Master.
Meetings are on Tuesday evenings – with lots of activity for the young people
learning to enjoy a programme that includes an annual drama for parents and friends.
4–12 year olds can leave for Sunday School from about half–way through
the Sunday morning services to enjoy Christian-based activities in small
classes of similar age groups and abilities. On most Sundays during school
term, discussion groups are available for young adults (to about 15 years).
These are announced during the service.
The Youth Group is just that – teenagers meeting to hang out together in
a safe environment, under the supervision of our Youth Worker. There are
lively music sessions which translate into the provision of some
music spots on Sunday mornings; bowling outings; DVD watching over pizza,
and the afore–mentioned hanging out!
For ladies who like to meet informally in each others houses
The MWI desire is:
1. To enable members through fellowship with each other to deepen their personal
commitment to Jesus Christ.
2. To relate the teaching of Jesus Christ to life in the home, the church,
the community and the world.
3. To share in the mission of the World Church
4. To provide a link with the women of other churches in Ireland and throughout the world.
Meetings are held about once a month with a special speaker, and sometimes,
just sometimes, men are allowed to come too – meetings are announced on the Sunday notice sheet.
The title says it all – who says that men don’t gossip? We meet to go
to the latest movie, go bowling and hear the occasional invited speaker
to encourage us to learn a new skill or take up a new interest.
A great club for all ages and all abilities – just like you see on the television –
you can be the star of your own show!
Why should the Youth Group have all the fun? The oldies like to “hang out” together too.
A serious, rewarding course for partners to get to know each other
better in a sympathetic atmosphere – run on an occasional basis.
The Church hosts an active retired group, organising outings and
events that keep the blood flowing!
We have an active group interested in an environmental programme that links
the environment and our faith, and how it may be woven into every aspect of church
life. We are one of the first members of Eco Congregation Ireland, a resource
available to all Christian denominations. It developed through a partnership
between the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) and the environmental
awareness charity “Going for Green” (now ENCAMS).
